Versatile musician MAWAT has released new music in the form of “EVERYWHERE”, the third single from his forthcoming full length album BLESSED. With an upbeat tempo, thumping base and a catchy hook, “EVERYWHERE” is an all African urban soundtrack.
“EVERYWHERE,” which is produced by Kadance (of L’Vovo ft. Mampintsha – Next Better Man fame), features Nigerian crooner Devyne. This single is an unexpected offering from a rapper as it is a House/Dance tune. The catchy reprise: “Wangithatha la - Wangibeka la (He took me from here, to there)”, is popular to South African church folk and is the secret ingredient to making the song so easy to remember. Accompanied by a hectic, commercial dance instrumentation, EVERYWHERE is the perfect spring sing-along.
When asked to describe the genesis of “EVERYWHERE,” MAWAT mentioned that: ”…the song is simply about God’s omnipresence, from Mzansi to Naija, ghetto to the burbs, church to the sheebeens, He is everywhere.”
MAWAT, born Siyabonga Xulu, is an award-winning producer and rapper who holds a SAMA nomination for Best Urban Gospel and has won the Best Gospel Rap award for the Ingoma and the SABC Crown Gospel Awards. His debut album BLESSED will be available in stores nationwide from the 30th of September 2016.
